- Very laid back, almost sleepy and seems to lack any soul or real character from what we saw
- It's easy to get around around by bus although most act as local buses and take time to get from a to b despite the relatively short distances
- Whilst not cheap it wasn't expensive compared to Western Europe; however we were there in the low season and everything was extremely quiet
- If it wasn't for a different flag and currency, you could think you were still in Argentina
- Apart from some unsavoury types in Montevideo most people were helpful and friendly
- It's a huge agricultural base producing lots of beef and wine
- There's very little variety in food in restaurants - again mainly meat and pasta/pizza. What do they do with all the fruit and vegetables that they grow?
- Passionate football nation and fiercely independent despite seeming very "Argentinian"
We believe the east Atlantic coast is beautiful but can't imagine you would go there if you have been to Brazil's coastline. Colonia is definitely worth a visit but you can do this as a day trip from Buenos Aires.
Not as interesting or exciting compared to all the other places you have visited, but still somewhere to tick, places you have been!
