We woke to find the electricity had gone off in the early hours of the morning and our room had already started to get warm with no fans or air conditioning. We'd planned to spend the day by pool chilling out and recovering from trek. After a leisurely breakfast we lay in our darken room trying to keep cool! We decided to head out late morning for a walk around the town to see if anywhere was open. Luckily Museum Del Oro was and had a generator so there was power. It's very small in comparison to it's counterpart in Bogota but contains a number of interesting exhibits including a collection of Tayrona objects. It was also very cool! After a few hours we left and went in search of somewhere for lunch just as it started to rain. Nearly everywhere was closed due to the power cut. A few restaurants along the promenade were open but none looked very appealing. We found a drinks bar by the marina and stopped for lemonade before deciding to head to the supermarket to buy some provisions to take back to the b&b (we'd bumped into Sergio who had told us that it had a generator and was open). Back at the b&b we sat in the courtyard under cover from the rain, eating lunch, trying to keep cool in the stifling heat and reading. The power finally came back on just before 1800, luckily in time for the restaurants to open for the evening. We went to a nearby Mexican restaurant and had a very tasty meal.
